The Wellness Bar Brings The Best in Raw Coffee and Juice to Coeur d’Alene

When Monica Engebretsen opened The Wellness Bar in July of 2014, her mission was simple; bring fresh, healthy alternatives to the grocery store and fast food options that taste great and are just as convenient. Monica began publishing the North Idaho Wellness magazine in 2008 and has developed a loyal following of North Idaho natives since. She says her dream to open The Wellness Bar developed organically; her love for total body wellness could come full circle if she was offering the products she always talked about with her fans.

The Wellness Bar is different from other coffee houses because her products are all organic, raw and healthy. Monica says that The Wellness Bar has developed a niche in CDA as the only place where everything offered is inspired by wellness. The Wellness Bar also stands out because aside from the amazing line of coffee, juices and smoothies, they offer mindfulness classes held in the back of the store as well. They also have healthcare providers that come Wednesdays from 6-7pm to talk fitness, allergies, PTSD, essential oils and more. These “wellness chats” are very popular, and Monica says soon they will be expanding and come July 16th, they will have weekly yoga classes taking place as well.

But what makes The Wellness Bar really shine? Their awesome selection of delicious choices that you can’t find anywhere else in CDA. They have a full line of organic coffee, and they offer drinks with hemp, soy and almond milk as well as dairy. The top seller for The Wellness Bar is their acai bowls (smoothie bowls), a super-food blend of acai, fruit, nuts, honey, coconut oil and more. I just tried my first acai bowl this morning for breakfast, and it left me feeling refreshed and energized. Aside from the bowls, The Wellness Bar has a killer selection of fresh pressed juices. The “Heartbeat” is their top seller, with a blend of grape, carrot, beet and ginger. YUM! And if this isn’t enough to make your mouth water, The Wellness Bar offers vegan and gluten free baked goods, all natural smoothies and kombucha on tap! Their newest product is Thai organic coconuts. That’s right, here in Coeur d’Alene you can drink straight from the source as the Wellness crew pops open the coconut and hands you a straw to enjoy from.

Monica says the future for The Wellness Bar is bright. They are looking to expand to two new locations in Hayden Idaho and Liberty Lake Washington. Monica says she hopes to continue offering the wellness choice for people in Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho.
