There’s nothing better than going out on a Friday night for good drinks with good friends. For part three of our series, Ken Huitt suggested the best places to stop and grab drinks in our area. During your vacation, make sure to check out some of the great places we have in North Idaho for beer, wine, cocktails and more. From the best bloody mary you’ve ever had to some killer happy hour, Coeur d’Alene and the surrounding areas have you covered during your vacation when it comes to catching a buzz.

The Boathouse Bar & Grill – Hayden

The Boathouse

3799 E Hayden Lake Rd, Hayden, ID 83835
(208) 772-5057

Located along the Hayden Lake public marina, the Boathouse is more than just a great stop for drinks. With a full menu of all-american dishes, The Boathouse is a great stop during a day cruise on the boat or for some delicious dinner and drinks with the gorgeous backdrop of Hayden Lake.

Why It’s Great for Drinks –  Drinks with names like the “Grand Cadillac Margarita” and the “Magic Mojito” have to be good, right? Well Ken Huitt says they are even better than the name suggests. With it’s location build right on the lake, The Boathouse attracts visitors of all kinds. It’s always a good time at The Boathouse.

Best Buys – Ken recommends The Boathouse Bloody Mary; their signature drink. He also recommends the Huckleberry Martini for those looking for a more fruity, refreshing summer drink.

Coeur d’Alene Wine Cellar

317 E Sherman Ave, Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814
(208) 664-9463

Located in a prime location for downtown vacationers, the CDA Cellar is been a popular stop for locals and tourists alike. Great decor with a fabulous team of staff help make the Cellar’s vision come alive; “Wine isn’t just a beverage, it’s an experience.”

Why It’s Great for Drinks – The CDA Wine Cellar features a state-of-the-art, 3,000 bottle of wine selection that includes local, regional and even international bottles of wine. While in the Cellar, you will often hear the sounds of light blues and soft jazz. After their expansion, the Cellar now has a wine-tasting experience they call “unlike anything in the Northwest.”

Daft Badger Brewing – Coeur d’Alene

1710 North 2nd St. Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814
(208) 665-9892

Ken says the Daft Badger brewing company attracts a young, outdoorsy crowd. He says it is always a friendly, welcoming feel complete with some really great beer. Located in mid-town Coeur d’Alene, you’ll often beat the downtown crowd coming in here.

Why It’s Great for Drinks – Always trying out new experimental beers on tap, the Daft Badger rarely has a keg that doesn’t run dry. The folks at Daft Badger really know their beer, and they’re proud of it too. They also frequently have live music throughout the week, so it’s always a good time when visiting the Daft Badger.
