Hiawatha Trial
Coeur d’Alene Bike Riding at it’s Best
The Hiawatha trail is a rails to trails success beyond description. This mountain biking trail suitable for adults AND children of all ages is amazing and must be on your list of activities for this fall.
If you are unfamiliar with “rails to trails”, it is a process of removing old railways and reconstructing the roadway for use by bicyclists and hikers. These gentle sloping trails are wonderful for families with children and adults of all ages to get out into the otherwise unreachable locations of North Idaho.
Safe, fun and easy. Yes these trails are so safe you don’t even begin to worry. Have fun with this incredible opportunity and travel through miles of tunnels and thousands of feet of bridge trestles.
The views are wonderful as you cross these railway trestles hundreds of feet above the forest. Watch the river flow by as you roll along these well constructed trails. The mountains surround you and traffic is nowhere to be seen.
Stop for lunch along the trail at many of the wide spots and historic markers. This is a fun way to spend time with your family and friends. The trails are wide and easy for the beginning rider with gravel surfaces suitable for mountain biking.
At the end of your trip you can hop aboard the shuttle that will take you back to the start of your adventure. Ride back through the 2 mile tunnel to your vehicle and you will have a great story to tell and memories to share for years to come.
