Identifying Huckleberries in North Idaho

• Deciduous Shrubs ranging in height from 6″ to 5 feet tall
• Leaves have serrated edges and are oval in shape
• The green Leaves are up to 1 1/2″ long and alternate on the stem
• Berries are deep blue to dark purple
• Berries are small rarely growing over 1/2″ in diameter
•  Elevation range from 2000 – 11000 ft
• Berries are found in July to October
